MAJOR WARNING! In what would be one of the biggest controversies regarding the U.S. food-stamp program in its five-decade history, President Donald Trump is now proposing to slash cash payments and substitute them with “100 percent American grown food” given to recipients. This was announced as of Mon. Feb. 12th, 2018. Per the budget proposal released by the White House, The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is looking to reform the program in order to save nearly $214 billion over the next decade… Along with saving over $17 billion in 2019 alone. According to the proposal, SNAP electronic benefit transfer (EBT) recipients receiving more than $90 a month in cash would instead receive a food-aid package that would “include items such as shelf-stable milk, ready to eat cereals, pasta, peanut butter, beans and canned fruit, vegetables, and meat, poultry or fish” — should the proposal be approved by Congress. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) also released a budget summary for fiscal year 2019 — outlining their budget plans for all their respective programs. They too are looking to cut over $200 billion in food stamp programs over the next decade. In the report, they also outline their budget’s seven strategic goals: Goal 1: Ensure USDA programs are delivered efficiently, effectively, with integrity and a focus on customer service Goal 2: Maximize the ability of American agricultural producers to prosper by feeding and clothing the world Goal 3: Promote American agricultural products and exports Goal 4: Facilitate rural prosperity and economic development Goal 5: Strengthen the stewardship of private lands through technology and research Goal 6: Ensure productive and sustainable use of our national forest system lands Goal 7: Provide All Americans access to safe, nutritious, and secure food supply And if that wasn’t enough, The North American Treaty Organization (NATO) recently agreed to establish two new military command centers in both the U.S. and Germany, marking the first upgrades of the command structure since the end of the Cold War… Another goal towards world war.
